Stargate Thoughts and Rambles

Remember back many moons ago when I got into Stargate? Well, although I finished the Atlantis series back then, I'm still working on the SG-1 episodes. I'll probably finish them in the next week or so. On the whole I've really enjoyed it... and I strongly suspect I will write some fic (several of those citrus taste prompts I posted maybe).
Still, though, I have some snarky observations and opinions:
Christopher Judge was credited as the writer for four episodes. To my amusement, Teal'c got some bedroom action in three of them Also, Teal'c is apparently so good that normal human women who have sex with him completely fail to notice the big X in his stomach where the symbiote pouch is.
Carter is the female version of Kirk. If there's a guy who could possibly fall in love with her, he will. For that matter, Daniel also gives Kirk a pretty good run for his money as Intergalactic Gigolo. Seriously... Rodney jokes that John is their 'Kirk', but he must not have paid attention to the SG-1 files he was supposed to have read.
I liked Jonas. I miss Jonas.
I love Vala. Adore her. She was the only good change to come with season nine. I just watched episode 200, and I still feel she's the best thing about the show these days.
Michael Shanks... bothers me.
I completely see why the series didn't survive long after the Ori arc started. The metaphor is extended and far too heavy handed, and practically guaranteed to get people upset. I'm actually sort of surprised I can't find a 'Catholic Church condemns SG-1 creators' article.
I am really really tired of the Jaffa being too stupid to live. Many times it's their pride that makes them stupid, other times it's their history of oppression (it makes them distrustful and they make bad assumptions), and then there are the instances when they are apparently simply brainless. Whatever the reason, however, all Jaffa-related storylines seem to be furthered by rampant idiocy.
