What's a nice way to say 'hornier'?  I'm pretty much drawing a blank... best I've come up with is 'more lustful'.  ¬.¬  If 'hornier' sounds a bit tacky and juvenile, 'more lustful' sounds like it's been ripped from a Victorian romance novel.

Help?

hrmm... some of this is going to depend on context, and who is saying it (or if it's narrator-speak).

(more aroused? hotter?..yeah; I have nothing useful over here...)

Also... when you say, "nicer," do you mean more polite in a setting-appropriate vocab sense ("How to discuss one's state of hot-pantsedness at a tea party on the Titanic...") or that the particular character who is actually talking wouldn't use "horny" in conversation, regardless of situation and state of dishabille?

I... suppose I could use 'hornier' I just think there has to be a less 'modern American slang' way of saying it. I want to say something like: Absence may make the heart grow fonder, but someone should have added that long courtships also made the body hornier.

Hey! I hope you're feeling better, too??? I was thinking of you this weekend; I was reading a John/Teyla story that made me laugh out loud... (I actually choked and scared the puppies since I was drinking water at the time) Anyway, I thought: I'll have to remember this and share it with Laura.

If you saw the episode where Rodney and his sister build a bridge between universes, and an alternate 'Rod' comes to visit, then you'll understand when I say that this story takes place in that alternate universe. So John is a geek. (A cute and adorably awkward geek.)

I loved the episodes that had Rodney's sister in it. I thought it was even cooler that the actor who plays Rodney and the actress who plays his sister are actually brother and sister in real life. Just kind of added to their onscreen sibling relationship, I thought.

Ooo, I just remembered something that might put you off the story. It's nothing graphic, nor does it really involve John or Teyla, but there is a brief mention of a polyamory relationship toward the end. It's actually one of the jokes in the story -- nobody (other than the people involved) know that it's a polyamory relationship, so there's a lot of confusion (and jumping to conclusions) on the part of outsiders as to exactly what is going on. Lots of things said or done that could be taken the wrong way until the light comes on at the end.

I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling the punchline. ^^; (Which I may already have done.)

Hornier...perhaps instead of more lustful you could try: intensified? Strengthened? Deepened? Lol idk I'm just throwing some out there. It would definitely depend on how it's used. Hope that helps a bit. =)

I'm behind on keeping up with what's going on but this - I had to snicker (cause my nose is funky at the moment too and laughing sounds stupid - or I sound stupid when laughing and doing that at work in the middle of the night might scare some guests in search of the ice machine)...

oh! right! So this reminds me of the discussion I had with someone else regarding whether hard-on had a hyphen or not - we decided it does. Anyway, yeah, I gotta love the fact that this is the type of stuff that comes up within the world of my writing friends. So - let's see...

(more) aroused/arousing? (more)agitated/agitating? worked up, turned on, stimulated, tense, provoked, amorous, harder, and of course, corneous.
