New fandom:
I have discovered I'm a fan of the Stargate TV show.  I've always liked the movie, but when the series came out I wasn't willing to pay for the premium channels, so I had never seen a single episode until this week.  I caught an episode of Stargate Atlantis on Syfy about a year ago, and thought it seemed pretty good (although I had no idea about the underlying story), but that was -- again -- my only exposure.

Last week I was watching movie previews on the Xbox, and stumbled across Stargate Universe, and was intrigued.  This has led to me reading a whole lot about the Stargate series on wikia, and finally to downloading some episodes of both SG1 and Atlantis.  I am now hooked.  This could be bad.

Review Whore:
I finished my Dramione fic.  It's large, and it's neither my pairing nor a fandom I ever planned to write for.  Please read it?  (And thanks thanks thanks to those who already have!)

Springkink:
I have my one and only fic due today, and only just got some inspiration for how to approach it.  *face palm*  I think the good ideas for the prompt/idea have pretty much already been taken (windrider1  and kitsune13_tam  I'm looking at you), so I'm going to have to be wild and crazy or recycle something.  Cloud is going to decorate, so it seems maybe I'm going with option one...

You know, Stargate was one of my earlier fandoms. I got really into it with a group of my friends when Anakin was about eleven months old. At one point (before I sold them) I owned seasons 1-7 of SG-1. It just...got flat for me in seasons 8,9, and 10. Then I thought Atlantis had a lot of potential, but...some things happened and then the guy in charge of Atlantis got really snippy with fans. I never even bothered watching the last season, and haven't tried to watch Universe. You'll have to tell me what you think of them--not trying to rain on your new fandom parade, I promise. Just brings up a lot of memories. I really, really loved most of SG-1 and have very fond memories of the show. Actually, I have very fond memories of quite a lot of Atlantis, too. :D

Your Dramione fic is on my list of things to read. Was going to do it yesterday but I wasn't really in the right frame of mind to focus on reading. And the fact that I'm even considering reading something Dramione tells you how very much I adore your writing. ;)

Good luck with the springking prompt! Wild and crazy can be fun. Especially where it involves Cloud decorating, I think, LOL.

Do you mean the guy who played John Sheppard? Or do you mean 'in charge' like 'in charge of filming'? *is curious*. I think Sheppard is my favorite character out of both SG1 and Atlantis (I've watched a handful of eps out of each now).

I ordered the complete DVDs from Amazon. ^^; I told my husband I don't know if I'll ever WATCH all of it, but it was cheaper to buy the whole thing (especially for SG1) than to buy just a few seasons.

Oh, not John Sheppard--the actor himself was, as I recall, miffed at some of the decisions that were made and the way one of the actresses was treated by the producers. Or the creator? I don't remember if the guy in charge was the producer, writer, creator, or all three. (John Sheppard was an awesome character.)

I'm sure I'll love the Dramione--the excerpts certainly made me laugh!

That icon--*DIES* My friend Danni had a similiar one, with Cloud all face-painted up, and I think I may have seen her icon before I knew the story of Cloud Strife's Adventures in Dressing Up.

(I also giggled at the Pouty McPout comment. SO TRUE of Cloud at that part. And an extra giggle because that's what I say to my kids when they're pouting. "Look who's being Pouty McPouty face.")

I liked the movie but like you, never got into the TV series. Do you have Netflix? That would be the best way to watch everything without breaking your bank and harddrive with the amount of eppys. :)

I think you'll see what I mean when you read it, though. It's a subject pretty much everyone who writes Cloud/Tifa touches on at least once. I think this is maybe my 2nd or 3rd take on it.

... bwahahahahahaha! When I look at the Cloud-in-make-up icon I keep seeing him at Don Coreno's mansion. I can't decided if he looks like he's being "shy" or looks disgusted.

The wonderful thing about springkink is that you don't have to post the prompt on that day if you can't. Just get it finished and make sure it's how you want it. Better to have it late and complete, then on time and not.
