Odd realization...

I was just looking at the cut scenes from Dirge of Cerberus, and suddenly realized:

Rosso has an attack that makes an impressive visual, but does no damage other than removing/destroying Cloud's goggles.

Wonder how long she had to train for that?

of course! The goggles - they gots to go. Haven't you noticed they're always the first things that get attacked any time he's wearing them? Before Dirge, Yazoo was shooting them off in ACC. I suspect there's either a goggles dealer out there pushing a lot of money on the side to ensure repeat customers - or else it's the first step to getting Cloud naked. *sage nod of the head*

It was an impressive visual... are we sure she didn't damage Fenrir too? I didn't watch all the cutscenes for DoC.

I don't believe they show Fenrir after that... but if the triplets couldn't destroy it, I'm betting Rosso didn't, either. Although she might have scratched it. (Cloud gets PISSED!

Also: Icon love! Where is that from? I'm thinking it's an altered pic of Cloud leaving with Marlene at the end of the scene with Vincent??

My bet is that she at least scratched it. At the very least, she made Cloud jump off Fenrir (causing said scratch) and explains just why Cloud looks so pissed off. He wasn't that upset when Yazoo shot off his goggles in ACC. Is there another scene with Cloud? I thought I had all of Cloud's scenes from DoC on iCloud (my iTouch). Even the phone convo between Vincent, Tifa, Barrett and Cloud... in um, both Japanese and English. haha

Does Cloud sound less pouty in Japanese during the phone call? (I'm so betting he does.)

Japanese Cloud sounds more focused and intent. English Cloud's voice has too much of a drawl, like he's too cool to be there. The conversation sounds more comical in Japanese because of Tifa and Barrett's banter against Cloud's complete seriousness. That and in the Japanese version it actually sounds like they're on the phone as opposed to the English version where it sounds like they're in the same room as Vincent.

I tend to prefer listening to the Japanese voices when watching any anime. Was raised in that era where animes were traded bootleg VHS tapes with no subbing and we had to figure it all out on our own. Sakurai doing Cloud's voice just does it for me. Can't even tell you how many times I've watched that one cutscene where he says, "Ikuzo Fenrir." LOL! Oh and I must mention Morikawa as Sephiroth.. you just *can't* duplicate or replace how he does Sephiroth. Heard Morikawa do it in person and phew!

Oh, I agree! I avoid dubs like the plague. (So I'm a snob. =P Fizzgig doesn't like them either.) I can't stand the English Cloud... he sounds completely pouty to me. I know he's trying to get that same tonal quality, but it just doesn't work. It especially doesn't work for me in DoC or CC, because he's not supposed to sound sullen/resigned in either of those. (Whereas he can get by with it in AC or Kingdom Hearts... I still don't like it, but it's not completely out of character there.)

I'll have to find the Japanese version of that phone call scene now. I have looked before, but I didn't think I'd found it. (Although I could be remembering wrong.)

Yay! Someone else to be snobby with! I feel like an outsider cause it seems nobody else seems to appreciate the difference!

I will save you the week it took me to get it (yes it took a week and in the end my friend found it for me). You can say that I'm completely devoted to Japanese voiced Cloud. LOL!
