Note: I like these two together in Crisis Core, but I've never written them before. I haven't actually finished the game yet, either, so I "know" them from watching the cutscenes and such, so I'm hoping the characters are recognizable.

i find cissnei/zack fanfics to be light and free of a great burden. the trouble with zack/aerith fanfic is that some writers think aerith is too ethereal and angelic to imagine her getting down and dirty--and that it is sacrilegious to write about a beloved iconic character who died, in any type of sexual way. so they write aerith as being asexual, a vestal virgin, an OOC nymphomaniac, or someone who has nothing better to do than be cloud's 24 hour guardian angel with no (after)life of her own.

cissnei is a much more ambiguous character(we don't even know her first name/real name)--which makes her an empty canvas full of potential for writers-especially in the smut department;)

i actually got a girl crush on cissnei after playing crisis core--she's just too cute. i wanted to smack zack for mooning over aerith when he had this great girl under his nose (and the typical thick-headed boy ignored all her subtle come-ons). *sighs* cissei was even trying to find him before he died:(

i still love zack/aerith, but cissnei always creeps in. great story! i loved how zack was more cautious about hurting cissnei because of his SOLDIER super-strength. typical sweet, thoughtful zack. as much as i love angsty, brooding, dominating cloud, zack's light-heartedness and straight-forward approach to getting what he wants is hot too;)

I haven't played far enough to meet her in CC yet, but I loved her in the cutscenes, especially the ones at the end, where she gives Zack the bike, and then meets up with him in Gongaga.

Thank you for the feedback, and I'm very glad you liked it. I will probably continue to use this character table for the No True Pair challenges (whenever they come up), so there is likely to be more of Zack/Cissnei in the future. Not that I dislike Zack/Aerith (I've written 2), but Cissnei is fun for all the reasons you point out. ^_^
