In a funk...

You will probably all think I'm crazy for saying this, but I feel like I haven't written anything in ages.  I'm jonesing to write something, and the words just won't come and make sense or turn out the way I want.  I've written the same little 500 word drabble four times now, and it's still not what I imagined when it came to me. 

This makes me sad.

And I have a huge list of things I need to write.  Prompts for Spring Kink, prompts for No True Pair (on Insane Journal), I need to write a prompt for all three of the tables I'm working on...

On the positive side, though, I updated dreamhost.  Yes, be shocked and amazed.  It's only been six years since I updated the Akabeko, but I have done so now.  (If you've been reading my LJ, the only new thing in the update will be the server dialogue changes.)  I also updated the collective itself (new site map, etc).  The RKRC was still listed there for pity's sake!

LOL, I don't think you're crazy at all. I do the exact same thing. If more than two days or so pass and I haven't written anything, I'm like 'aahhhh! It's been forever! I'm going crazy! What do I write?' The worst part is being in the place where you have ideas, but nothing is coming, or if it does, it's not coming out RIGHT. This is why I've not finished my Vaan/Penelo prompt table yet. GRRR.

Ahem.

At any rate, yes, I understand. There are times, too, after I finish a massive writing project that my brain goes on haitus for a few days or a week. That always drives me crazy, because even though I know I could use the break, I still have these ideas--I just can't write them.

(Can you tell I'm having one of these moments now, too? Pfft.)

Maybe we've been trained from turning in papers in school? Although... it's been a long time since I had to write a paper. ^^; But that is kind of how it works: write like a maniac, turn the paper in, let the brain relax.

My brain refuses to be retrained. It says: nope, you wrote like a maniac, now I'm on break!

I do seem to be rather prolific. ^^; But until today, the last thing I finished was on Monday. So... that seems like a long time!

Am trying to write my 30_lemons fic for the month, but my head hurts. >.

Oh boy do I know that feeling. Happens all the time. (Part of why I like drabbling so much. Helps with the funk.) I think I was stuck in this state for like... a year + with Little One.

I am working on some Battousai for you, it's just taking longer than I thought. The story wants to be longer than I wanted it to be. >_

I'm still stuck in a funk on Someone to Watch Over Me. (Sorry Ashfae!) I only had two more chapters to go -- the fight, and then the sex -- but... they don't seem to want to co-operate. I could probably get on with it if I could just hold up a black placard and say "then the fight happened".

Battousai!! Hurray! TYVM =) I'm sorry it's not being agreeable on length, though. Mine do that too. Dare I hope Kenshin is like Cloud and wants to take longer with teh sex?

Aw, I have fond memories of the Akabeko. That was one of my first Kenshin fansites, back in... wow, 1999. I was desperate to know if the "I Hate Tomoe" club (of which you said you were a card carrying member) was a real, online club or not.

It both was, and wasn't. You couldn't sign up for it, but there were several of us in it. All you had to say was you wanted to join and you were in. Easy! =)
