Hubby gave me a bunch of yarn, including a gorgeous skein of Koigu kpppm.  I found a couple of free one-skein patterns, and I'm torn on which to try:

On one hand, I have everything I need to make the beret.  On the other, the bag is really adorable.  And on a third (o.O) it's a toss-up as to if I'd ever actually use either.

Hmmmmm.

Ohh, that's hard. I'd have to say the bag--it's just so CUTE! I love hats--I wear beanies and winter hats whenever I can in fall/winter because they're such fun--but I'm not so big on berets, which is why my personal preference automatically goes to the bag.

But for knitting them, I have no idea which one might be more fun to do. ;)

P.S. Happy birthday again!!!!!! *HUGS*

I think the beads might be more challenging (never done anything with beads before) but that the hat would be easier. So I'm not really sure which would be more fun either! ;) I guess it would depend what I felt like at the time.

Thank you! *HUGS*

personally i would wear the beret, i wouldn't use the bag. is that beaded? you could always make a beaded puppy sweater!

Poor Biggles would be wearing scraps and I'd be taking Zoe to the vet for eating so many beads! LOL.

Well, you could make hat and then mail it to me --grins-- I vote for the beret regardless. It's gorgeous.

Ack,birthday! Um. Happy birthday!

Also, pretty yarn; also, I love the beads on the bag, but kind of feel like a hat would be more useful (I would be terrified of stretching the bag, somehow...).

If you have enough yarn for that, I have the pattern (and have, alas, never used it) and could send it to you.

That scarf is to die for!

I know; it's a fantastic pattern. Unfortunately, there was some wackiness with getting the correct yarn in an appropriate color (did not look at all like the photograph, then was the wrong yarn altogether in a more correct version of the dye....), so I haven't ever done anything with it.

I have to confess I cannot think of a single patterns have ever done that was in the suggested yarn or colorwaysp, and oftentimes not even in the suggested weight... So that would be no obstacle for me.

Then again, I have had some true catastrophes come off my needles, so you may well be the wise one here... Hmm...

Yeah; I was worried about the beading. The yarn that they sent was lovely, but the weight was wrong for the bead size, and getting larger beads would have looked silly, etc.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. =( It is lovely!

I keep trying to decide how big the bag would actually be. You know, in reality, vice in the picture. In the picture it looks huge but it just can't be. I should go look for the measurements in the pattern, that would be smart! ~.~

And thank you! =) It's been pretty happy.

I love Koigu, it has such a nice hand to it, all gorgeous dyeing aside.

I'm a bigger fan of the beret, and if you really loved the look of the seed beads there is no reason you couldn't add them to the hat. Especially in a radiating star fashion along the decreases, it could be stunning. I like amulet bags and small purses, but find I use them far less. A fashionable, slightly eccentric hat makes much more of a statement with such a lovely yarn.

...I'm sure you can guess what my closet is populated with, not to mention my Rav queue >_

I don't usually wear hats... but I don't usually go anywhere, either. Hmmmm.

Oh oh oh. The bag looks so pretty, so personally I'd go with that - it's always nice to have something small and that cute to keep things like spare change or keys in ♥

LOL! I love it! <3

I haven't turned my phone on since last Wednesday. I am a really bad cellphone user. ^^; But thank you for the text and the picture and for being your fantabulous self! *HUGS*

I personally would go for the little bag. It is adorable and in my opinion more giftable if you decided that you didn't want/wouldn't use it!
