So, I got this from [livejournal.com profile] vashka_kat :

I write like
Arthur Conan Doyle

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

Cool!  That's awesome.

Except... not really.

That's what I got for a few paragraphs from the beginning of Call Waiting (one of the parts without sex), but when I tried some of the stuff from later on, I got Dan Brown.  Recent condom silliness gave me Chuck Palahniuk.  My Garion/Ce'Nedra smut gave me Vladimir Nabokov.  Several paragraphs from Hunger Persists gave me Stephen King, and then a later section gave me Kurt Vonnegut.

Sephiroth proposing to Maleficent?  James Joyce.  (If this doesn't make you laugh, nothing will.)

Oh, score!  Zack and Sora comparing summons also gives me Stephen King...

But Zack/Cloud/Tifa talking about smelly foods gives me another vote for Vladimir Nabokov.

...and a Kenshin/Kaoru elf story gives me Stephen King again.

So... really, I write like a man...?  Maybe?  And most often like Stephen King...?

Wait.  Trying my Draco/Hermione story gives me J.K.Rowling.

I guess I write like everyone?

^_^

I got J.K. Rowling for almost all of my stories and fanfiction.

For my journal entries, I got Stephen King. (<-- That disturbs me a little.)

Like windrider, then, at least you are consistent. I'm apparently all over the place.

As for journal entries... I don't know what to tell you (but can see why that would be disturbing). But Zack and Sora silliness gave me Stephen King, and they're not scary in the slightest. (At least, not in a traditional King manner.)

I already got Vladimir Nabokov, Dan Brown and James Joyce. This is fun! :P

It is! ^_^

Let me see - the first paragraphs of my unfinished "how to train your dragon" fic got me J.K.Rowling, while a later dialog got me Ian Fleming.

The first paragraphs of Cloud Summon got Vladimir Nabokov, and the climax I still can't seem to get to got me Stephen King.

The beginning of Seven impossible things also got me Ian Fleming. The first sex scene gave me... Stephen King?

O_o

LOL. I have no idea how it's doing this. There's a suggestion here in the comments that it has to do with word choice more than actual style, and I think that makes sense. I'd take it to mean your vocabulary when writing sex isn't purple prose. And that's a good thing!

I wish I knew how it analyzed writing. I'd like to know if it's only looking at vocabulary choices, or if it can analyze quickly enough to determine any sort of grammatical structure. I tend to lean towards the former. And then, once it has the vocab list, how does it compare it to the authors it utilizes. Does it just have a database saying "100 most used words of Stephen King?" At any rate, it seemed to think I was Stephen King, Dan Brown, George Orwell, J.K. Rowling, and Vladimir Nabokov. Of all these authors, there's only one I even like.

I had to look up who Dan, Chuck, and Vladimir were after I got them. I've never read any of them, and have no interest. ^^;

What I found most amusing about this, were the fics that actually got the results. James Joyce writing crackfic is an image that will stay with me...

So it must mean you're very diverse in your writing, or that you have an original style that has a little of each. But it's amusing that most of them are men. Even windrider1 has a style like Nabokov. I wonder what kitsune13's style is? Maybe Charlotte Bronte.

Maybe Tam will try it and let us know. =D

I was a little disturbed by Nabokov, until I got him for a discussion about food as well as a story about sex.

And James Joyce really just kills me. For a crackfic. ^___^

As I said before- your results are hilarious!
