Stardust

Woke up this morning in the middle of an allergy attack, which led to me sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea while waiting for the antihistamine to kick in.  Wanting something to watch, I looked to the (enormous) stack of videos we own but have yet to even open, and pulled out this little gem.

And it is a gem... provided you're looking to watch a slightly different fairy-tale, and aren't expecting to find epic fantasy behind the fluff.  This is fantasy in the vein of The Princess Bride or Tangled, not Lord of the Rings.  It's got fun characters, humor, true love and daring rescues.  It's even got a small message about the nature of love.  It's not ground-breaking, but it is entertaining.

So, if anyone else needs a fun, feel-good bit of fantasy fluff, I recommend it.  ;)  I'm going to go order the book now...

A note to those with children:  the PG-13 rating is deserved.  There are several rather risque scenes, and a couple of... mildly gruesome deaths.  (Which is an oxymoron if I ever wrote one.)
