No no no no no...

Have you ever hit on a story that is well-written, and the premise (the most general summary you could give, we'll say) is workable, but the author has chosen to fuel everything with ignorance?  I'm not talking about the characters -- the characters aren't Too Stupid To Live.  I'm talking about a logical cascade failure because every assumption the author makes about the way the world works is entirely wrong?

(It would take paragraphs and paragraphs to explain all the ways in which the fic I just read is wrong.  About everything.)
