Songs of the Season day 3
Nov. 29th, 2009 11:18 amToday we have the 1953 version -- the first version, the original arrangement, the original vocalist -- of Santa Baby. This is Eartha Kitt, whom many of you may know best as Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove.
In 1963, Eartha Kitt recorded a more uptempo version, which is the one Madonna and others have based their renditions upon. I still think the 1953 recording is the best, with the 1963 a close runner up.
And a recap of previous selections:
Day 1: Jo Stafford, Winter Weather
Day 2: Dean Martin, I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm
