Frustration explained?

A study last year reported that the reading comprehension of highschool seniors had fallen below what it was twenty years ago.  This year the national average SAT scores are at a record low, with reading comprehension at 497 and writing at 489 (out of 800).

is that old data? The new SAT Scores are on a 2400 point system, not 1600.

I hear your frustration. I suppose in this world of instant gratification that no one can take the time to sit down and savor a good book.

I feel VERY fortunate that both of my kids (6 and 9) love to read, and tho the little one is still learning quite a bit, she still goes and chooses a book off her shelf and tries on her own. My 9-year-old goes to the library and picks out these tomes to read and I won't see him for hours at a time.
