Projects in Progress

Here are some pics of my in-progress knitting projects.  Not sure I'm doing this right, but it's keeping me amused, anyway.

First we have the monster... who exists as a knitted gourd thing at the moment:

And then the hat:

As a yarn nut myself (of the crochet variety) I'm both envious and amused, because even as a gourd, that project is adorable.

And does it really matter if you're doing correctly or not? At least as it's keeping you happy.

Thank you!

And it is making me happy. =)

Ohhh I love that yarn for the hat. Beautiful!

It is! Way prettier than on the skein. I took the hubby to the yarn store and had him pick. He did well! =)

The colours of the gourd-creature are very pretty!

I was in my local wool shop this morning checking out the new spring colours when some pure silk yarn in an incredibly deep, lustrous teal caught my eye. The steep price kept me from buying a skein on the spot, so now I'm looking through my project books for a lace scarf or something similar that will only use one ball, because oh my, DO WANT.

Thank you!

And I know exactly what you mean. I have far too many projects marked for the future because I wanted the yarn rather than because I wanted the project...

I LOVE the colors! I can only do basic knitting (I was always better at crocheting, and even that is basic), but my mom knits like crazy and I always love seeing knitted stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you!

I've been a pretty basic knitter myself. My last real project was a sweater in stockinette stitch, which is about as basic as you can get. The monster has proven to be quite a learning experience!

Gourd it may be, but that is one adorable gourd.
People who knit don't get enough cred, really. I wish I did, but I only bake. I'm pathetic with any other manner of craft. In that light, props to you, O goddess of the knitting needles. That is a darling little monster.

Baking is a wonderful hobby. =)

I like that I can sit down with string and sticks and end up with fabric. That's really cool. And I learned how from a book! If anything difficult comes up, I go to the internet and learn how to do it. =)
