Secondly, you already know I tend to not read smut. My imagination goes a long way already. ;) But I can say that dropping a claim doesn't make you a wimp. I can understand completely how it would make you feel like you were failing or letting yourself down or something, but in general, it's easy to tell when someone is writing something because they have to, as opposed to because they want to. As you said, forcing situations makes it really hard to write and takes the fun out of it.
