There are many things I dislike about Twilight but here are things that come off the top of my head.
I'd never heard about Twilight until I saw the trailer and since I do like Rob Pattinson, I took an interest. Well, I tried to take an interest anyway. I tried to watch the movie, but just could not stomach it (took me two attempts to finish it). Bella's vocabularly and blatant disregard for logic was just beyond my tolerance.
I wonder if I were a teenager, would it have created a mass hysteria within me, like I've seen (was at Comicon just before Twilight came out and the place was overrun by them... not a pleasant experience). I was raised with Bram Stoker's Dracula and therefore Coppola's movie version with Gary Oldman. So seeing sparkling vampires that are supposed to be the most beautiful things ever, just didn't appeal to me.
As for Twilight itself, what bothers me the most is that it's a Mary Sue written in the vampire/werewolf lore, which SM fervently denies (then why does Bella look like SM? Right down to the long curly hair? Why does every single male find her so irresistible and every girl envious?). The denial annoys me to no end. Just fess up to it, denial just makes one look like an idiot. Plus, SM doesn't even LIKE vampires and confesses to knowing next to nothing about the genre. How stupid is it to write for a genre that you don't even like?
I also dislike the completely fairy tale ending of the series. Plus, Bella pregnant from an undead blood sucker and having him eat her uterus to birth their child. There is supposed to be a war but nobody dies. Only the bad guys and no good guys? Honestly?
This is getting too lengthy so I shall stop here. :)
I'll end with Rob Pattinson's words for Edward and Bella, they're a bit deranged and psychotic. LOL!
