I think you make a lot of good points. I think the biggest problem (besides the fact that I just cannot connect with Bella's character and the um, flair of language Meyer uses to GET to the point where it becomes a 'regular' vampire romance... is that I just don't like it. =)
That said, I can pick up Feehan and laugh myself sick, because its funny. I'm sure most people don't find it funny... but they are.
