I am disturbed...

... that I have forgotten how to properly punctuate.  I throw commas around like they are confetti.  This is probably what I get for being a mathematician instead of studying to be a writer.  Writing is more fun.  Especially since nobody will play Equate with me.  Oh for the days when I was the voice of reason to my fellow math geeks, and would explain that the "squiggly bracket" was actually called a brace, and that, yes, the "dot with a comma under it" had a name.  (Really.  It's a semi-colon.  I'm not making it up.)

Oddly, said friends were more impressed that I could answer random, middle-of-the-night phone calls about dodecahedrons.

That was fun.  I need me some more geeky math peeps.  (College was 15 years ago now...)

In any event, it slows the writing down when you argue with yourself over commas vs. semi-colons vs. nothing at all.   I've been messing with the same story for over a week... and when I can't get happy with the content, I start picking apart the sentences.  (We need more synonyms for soap.)
